The Millikan M9 Electric Boat embodies the future of clean marine mobility — a solar-powered catamaran blending elegant French design with innovative engineering. Created by Millikan Boats and powered by BlueNav’s advanced retractable electric motors, the M9 runs exclusively on solar energy, offering an eco-friendly and whisper-quiet boating experience without the need for fossil fuels.

Built to perform efficiently and sustainably, the M9 is equipped with two 15 kW electric motors (equivalent to 50 hp) powered by dual 16 kWh batteries and over 6 kWp of solar output. Its double-faced solar panels capture sunlight reflections off the sea surface, generating up to 20% more energy than standard panels. This system allows for day-long cruising—up to 10–11 hours under sunlight—with virtually unlimited range at 6 knots and approximately 3 hours at 9 knots.

A highlight of the M9 is its “virtual anchor” system, which uses GPS integration and controlled electric propulsion to maintain position automatically, eliminating the need for physical anchors in calm conditions. This innovative feature offers precise station-keeping with minimal energy consumption.

Inside, the M9’s dual-hull design provides a surprising amount of living space. Each hull includes a private cabin — one with a 200 × 110 cm double bed and the other with a similar berth plus a full bathroom with shower and toilet. Between the hulls, the central cabin area offers 12 m² of convertible space with a foldable table and optional double bed (200 × 140 cm). The outdoor galley features a refrigerator, electric stove, and sink, while the aft cockpit and forward sundeck create inviting leisure zones. With accommodations for up to seven people, the M9 brings comfort and innovation together for extended voyages.

Developed in collaboration with Vincent Lebailly Yacht Design and constructed by Chantier Naval de la Passagère in St Malo, France, the Millikan M9 Electric Boat represents a milestone in eco-friendly craftsmanship — offering solar autonomy, intelligent technology, and timeless European style.
