Navier is a U.S. maritime-technology company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, focused on transforming waterborne travel with electric hydrofoiling vessels. Since its founding, Navier has sought to build craft that bridge luxury leisure, commercial transport and defense use — all while pushing zero-emission performance into new territory.

Here’s a breakdown of what Navier is about:

Overview

  • Name: Navier

  • Founded: 2019

  • Headquarters: San Francisco Bay Area, CA, USA

  • Founders/ Key Leadership: Sampriti Bhattacharyya

  • Funding: Privately held; early investors include Global Founders Capital, Treble and other venture-backers.

  • Mission: Build electric hydrofoiling watercraft that dramatically improve efficiency, eliminate emissions, and redefine performance across recreational, commercial and defense-related marine applications.

Technology & Design

Navier’s technology stack is built on aerospace-grade systems adapted for marine use. Their hydrofoil system uses actively controlled foils that lift the hull above the water, dramatically reducing drag and improving range. The proprietary flight-control software adjusts foil surfaces up to 50 times per second for ride stability and responsiveness. Twin independent electric drives provide redundancy and high performance. The hull is made from carbon fiber composites, optimized for light weight and foiling efficiency.

Sustainability

Traditional motorboats rely on fossil fuel, create wake, noise, and emissions. Navier counters this by offering fully electric hydrofoiling vessels: they operate with zero tail-pipe emissions, minimal wake, and significantly reduced energy consumption. The N30’s foiling design enables longer range and smoother ride with lower environmental impact.

Vision

Navier envisions a future where water travel is as efficient, clean and high-performance as the best electric cars — but on water. They are not only targeting the leisure market, but also commercial mobility, water taxis, island transport and defense applications. With their technology, Navier aims to “unlock the final frontier on this planet — our waterways.”
