The Delta Electric Boating Alliance (DEBA) is a Charged Marine initiative bringing together marinas, boat manufacturers, charging providers, utilities, government agencies, local businesses, community leaders, and boaters to accelerate the transition to electric boating throughout the California Delta.

With hundreds of miles of navigable waterways and a strong network of marinas, boat launches, waterfront businesses, and boating communities, the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta is uniquely positioned to become one of America's leading electric boating destinations.

Our goal is simple: build the infrastructure, partnerships, and awareness needed to make electric boating accessible throughout the Delta.

Why the California Delta?

The California Delta has one of the most significant recreational boating ecosystems in the western United States.

California State Parks currently identifies 67 boating facilities specifically within the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta, including dozens of marinas, launches, dry-storage facilities, yacht clubs, and marine-service businesses. The broader Delta system extends across hundreds of miles of interconnected waterways.

This existing boating infrastructure creates an extraordinary opportunity to introduce electric boats and marine charging without reinventing the region's waterfront economy.

Electrification can help the Delta:

Building an Electric Boating Corridor

The long-term vision of the Delta Electric Boating Alliance is to develop a connected network of electric-ready marinas and charging destinations throughout the Delta.

Instead of installing isolated chargers, we want to create a coordinated ecosystem where electric boaters can confidently travel between destinations.

Marina Electrification

Work with participating marinas to evaluate electrical capacity, identify charging opportunities, develop infrastructure plans, and pursue available incentives and funding.

Infrastructure may include:

Electric Boats

Bring electric boat manufacturers, propulsion companies, dealers, rental operators, and fleet operators into the Delta to demonstrate what today's electric marine technology can do.

Charging Network

Develop strategically located charging destinations that allow electric boats to travel farther throughout the Delta and connect marinas, restaurants, resorts, communities, and waterfront destinations.

Demonstrations & Events

Give boaters the opportunity to experience electric boating firsthand through demo days, electric boat festivals, owner meetups, educational programs, and community events.

Funding & Incentives

Help participating organizations identify potential state, federal, utility, air-district, and other funding opportunities that can support marine electrification and charging infrastructure.

An Economic Development Opportunity

The Delta Electric Boating Alliance isn't simply about replacing gasoline boats with electric boats.

It's about using marine electrification as an economic development opportunity for the entire Delta.

Charged Marine can work with participating marina operators to evaluate their property and develop a practical roadmap for marine electrification.
